View from beach on Walter’s Island
Kyuquot Sound, northwest Vancouver Island.
A remote place, so incredibly peaceful, as if from a storybook.
This land was stolen from Indigenous peoples, who continue to struggle for autonomy
and their traditional ways of living, organizing and managing their communities.
I am spending three weeks in a nearby village for a “Community Field Experience”
as part of my Bachelor of Education program, working in a school of 42 students JK-12!
Thanks so much for liking my scratchboard drawing “Branching Out.” I just reacquainted myself with your site—great!
Thanks, Nancy. I hope to do more posts than I have been doing this summer. I look forward to your future posts!
