On our last full day of the trip we headed from Aguas Calientes up, up, up at 5:30am to Machu Picchu park. We had an hour to explore part of the main park (where Machu Picchu is located) before we could even enter the other part of the park (with Huayna Picchu) at 7am. In Quechua, Huayna Picchu means ‘Young Mountain’ and in order to hike it you need to obtain tickets in advance (200 people are allowed to entered at each day at both 7am and 10am). Once in, we enjoyed the challenging hike and breathtaking views from the top. We could have stayed up there ALL day soaking up the sun…What majestic beauty of this place…
Sounds quite boring! (by the way I’m 10 yrs old!)
haha, it may sound boring to you now, but when you grow up, you will be able to appreciate these sorts of experiences. (Everyday thousands of people from countries all over the world visit this place, so it must be worth it!) 😀
thanks…… 🙂
